BMPCC 4K freezes after Update 6.6

PostThu Oct 31, 2019 9:18 am

Hi all,
My BMPCC 4K constantly freezes mid use since I updated 6.6, each time requiring to remove the battery because the on/off switch wont even shut it down.
I followed the proper instructions upon updating, and update installed without a hiccup.

I tried factory reset twice to no avail. Any help on this?
Thanks.

The update has nothing to do with your issue, you need to contact your local BMD Service Center and have them look at the camera. ;)

That issue started immediately after updating. I didn't have it before.

Here's what you can try:

1. Please remove all power sources and turn the camera off.

2. Connect only the AC power WHILE holding the focus button, turn the power switch of the camera to ON.

3. The camera should start up with a blank screen and you should feel the air movement of the internal fan from the bottom of the camera.

4. Connect your camera to your computer via USB.

5. The camera should be detected again and you can re-run the updater.

See if this helps.

Thanks Robert,
Just Tried it. Doesn't work. the camera either doesn't boot or the software doesn't recognize it.
Nothing happens in the software update window although plugged via usb to the computer.

OK, then I would suggest that you do a firmware downgrade and see if the problem persists.

To do that, uninstall the latest Camera Setup software and reinstall one of the older versions. Reboot your computer, connect the camera, and run Camera Setup.
