Question on the Arduino Developer board

Will the board support overlays added on the output from the Arduino using the Library?

So far the specs I read indicate that the Arduino only relays serial information for camera related controls. but I am not sure if you can do an intermittent stream of data to overly on the video feed to a display so you could relay say a counter every 300ms or something or gps and lat/long data.
