Resolve plays short and then "crashes"

PostSun Dec 01, 2019 10:45 am

Hey!

I edit in Resolve now for almost a year. I almost never had problems with it, but the last two days Resolve only works for a few seconds and after that it freezes. It seems it only happens with blackmagic RAW files. With an old H264 render it didn't happen.

Does anybody recognize this problem? And know how to fix it?

Already updated GPU driver, Resolve is newest version, Blackmagic Raw is up to date. Restarted PC also.

Sounds like your system did a Window update.

Try rolling the GPU driver back a few versions or if that doesn't help deselect the GPU decode for BRAW until the GPU vendors update their drivers for your GPU.

Check your GPU driver version: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=102152

Hey!

Thanks for advice.

I found out it was not a problem with BRAW. The problem is when I apply a transform, so rotation, scale, etc.

So I gonna try to update my CUDA stuff!

Don't install anything CUDA specific. The CUDA driver is included with the normal display driver for Windows. Installing a CUDA specific driver can cause issues.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Don't assume that it's NOT the driver. Some people reported normal behavior with NVIDIA's latest driver and BRAW until they started doing more complex things with them like transitions.
