BMPCC 6K | Weebill S Review Video

PostThu Jan 09, 2020 11:26 am

Here is my review of the Zhiyun weebill S.

The reason why I am posting this here is that I used it mostly with the BMPCC6K :).

So if you were thinking of getting one and/or wondering how to balance it I thought it might be useful to you.

Let me know what you think and if you have any question :).

Cheers,
Florent

Appreciate your review of this gimbal, Florent. If you didn’t own a gimbal, would you buy this or the Ronin S? Or another option?

Hi Rick, thanks !! I did have both and used both and I would still pick the Weebill S because of the way I use a gimbal. I only use gimbals for simple follow shots etc and I find the Weebill easier to carry around since I travel a lot. Both great gimbals though.

How well was the camera balanced, with the motors off? Did it hold steady in any position?

I ask, because the results here are not good. This could be thanks to poor technique, poor balance, poor tuning, or all three.

Can you get a balanced horizon?

Many users are complaining that it is not possible to balance the horizon properly with this gimbal.

Yes you can for sure, I think people complained when shooting sideways running with it which I did a few times and didn't notice anything.
I shot most of this with it :

I only use gimbals in a simple too so maybe I don't see what people are having issues with.

Thanks for the review. I recently rented the the Ronin SC for a week. It was OK, but heavy and I prefer the dual handles on the Weebill S. I plan on buying the Weebill S in a few months.

Btw, it's not a deal breaker, but can you power the camera from the Weebill S.

Thanks for watching :) !!
The Ronin S does get heavy, I think a lot of people don't realise that. That's why I like the Weebill.
I don' think you can power the bmpccs. I think the Eos R works. I haven't tried that as I always use the small Canon batteries for gimbal work.
