BMPCC4K vertical black line on the image edge

PostWed Jan 15, 2020 5:06 pm

I’ve been shooting with my BMPCC4K now about half a year, and I’ve not had any problems with any clips (CinemaDNG, 3:1) before. However, two out of about 75 clips I shot today were damaged – black vertical line on the right edge of the image, same place on both of them. The edge area on the right side of the vertical black line is “composed” of squeezed different nearby vertical areas. These clips were shot successively, and no clips before or after had any faults.

What has happened? Should I be worried about the camera’s condition? It’s not a big deal in the case of these images, as the damage is in the very edge of the image. But if this happens again, would this be somehow correctable afterwards?

(The camera has the last firmware enabling CinemaDNG.)

Any help or comments appreciated!

Lauro, get in touch with your regional BMD while the camera is under warranty. Haven’t seen that on my camera but I’ll watch out for any problem.
