Micro Cinema Camera HDMI video format

PostMon Jan 20, 2020 6:14 pm

I have a BlackMagic Micro Cinema Camera and I would like to know if, on the HDMI output port, video formats other than YCbCr 4:2:2 10 bits are supported.

Is the camera able to change the HDMI output format according to the EDID provided by a sink device ?
May be YCbCr 4:4:4 24 bits ?

Thanks

Andrea

No it can't. Why?

Uncompressed 1.5G 10 bit 4:2:2 is more than enough bandwidth.

Hi Howard,
thanks a lot for your very quick reply.
My capture pipeline is made of a Toshiba HDMI Bridge TC358743 connected via CSI-2 4 lanes to an NVidia Jetson Nano.
The problem is that HDMI bridge supports only:
A) RGB 24-bpp @60fps
B) YCbCr422 24-bpp @60fps
C) YCbCr444 24-bpp @60fps -> NOT supported by the NVidia Jetson Nano
D) (probably, but not sure, YCbCr 422 12-bit discarding last 4 data bits to become YCbCr 422 8-bit)

So I have to deal with such requirements ...

Hi Andrea,

I'm struggling to get the TC358743 working with the Jetson Nano, could you give me any tips about how you got it to work?

Thanks,
Robert
