2.5A is marginal at 12V -- this is a power of 30W which is the stated max power consumption of the Pocket. If the V-mount battery has a voltage of 14.8V, then it has a power capacity at 2.5A of 37W which is a comfortable margin. Question is how much voltage decrease is allowed on a V-mount battery before it shuts off, if that is above 12V then you should be OK.
Actually, the rating for the AC converter supplied with the camera is 12V 2.5A according to its data plate. The actual rating may be a bit higher, but if you wanted to be more cautious you could wait until the internal battery is charged or nearly charged before switching on the camera.
