I put my daughter in the sofa in front of the windows with sunshine coming in and hitting her hair and hitting a white blanket. Shot on a Zeiss Contax 35-70 without much preparation and only held the filters in front of the lens, I underexposed her face two stops and that was a little to much to be honest as there are some noise in her skin. I also framed the picture so that I could see how the exterior would look. This is just a framegrab that I put a quick grade on, I will continue the testing when I have some more time after next week but I was so impressed with how it handled the highlights that I had to post this one.
If that was only available sunlight, the exposure looks very good. If you could have bounced some light onto her, the noise would likely disappear. If you had exposed with one stop more light, there may have been clipping on her knee, etc.
