LCD Hood for the Pocket??

PostWed Sep 04, 2013 4:02 pm

Is it an optional accessory that could be made available or even an LCD loupe?

BMPCC pocket cam or BMPC-4K?

If the latter, see:

Thanks for editing the title of the thread so people will understand your question.

FYI:

"Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera" = "BMPCC".
"Blackmagic Cinema Camera" = "BMCC".
"Blackmagic Production Camera 4K" = "BMPC-4K" or "BMPC4K".

Those are the actual product names and abbreviations.

Hopefully you'll find a purpose-built LCD hood/loupe for your BMPCC soon.

Yes certainly some confusion about. I will call it the 'Pocket' from now on. ;)

I think maybe the new Hoodman loupe for the 5D M3 might work.

I've been chatting to the guys a Kinotehnik (http://www.kinotehnik.com/) who make the LCDVF loupes for many DSLRs and other cameras.

They have an LCDVF for the BMPCC in the works and should be available soon.

Adam, do you know if they will include a diopter in the BMPCC model. I tried one of their loupes on an NEX7 and just couldn't see. Old age I'm afraid!

Hey Chris. They've not said. All I got out of them was "You just have to hold on a bit! It will be available soon."

My guess is that it will not have a diopter as none of their other loupes offer them.

Had a feeling it would be like that. Never mind we'll keep looking. Many thanks and also thanks for your 'general' helpful and considered input to this forum. I and, I'm sure, many other appreciate your help.

My pleasure. Keeps me out of mischief between renders or takes. ;-)
