A and B camera?

PostWed Sep 04, 2013 5:48 pm

Is it possible to have a BMCC and use a BMPCC as a B camera?

I mean, its different frame size, can you combine BMPCC 16mm size clips together with BMCC with out film format trouble?

The "look" of the 2 cameras is very similar as they use the same colour science and the sensor are from the same "family" according to BM.

I have both and the 1080p footage from both camera sits very well together.

Obviously there is the sensor bloom issue on the BMPCC that BM are currently looking into but once sorted I thing they will make a great pair.

Agreeing to Adam, yet i wanted to add the obvious: both cameras have different sensor sizes, the same lenses result in different image composition.

Yes, I also agree with Adam. I too have the BMCC as my A-cam and the BMPCC as my B-cam. The ProRes files look very similar...minus the sensor blooming.
