So why the drastic price cut? I know BM have denied it, but one can´t help wondering with all the sensor issues they had. I would be sad if they did stop because in my opinion the sensor in the BMCC i far superior to the pocket, and has a special quality of its own
Updated maybe. Discontinued, I don't think that would make market sense. Price drop may just mean they've been able to lower manufacturing costs and, given the expanding lineup, improved market position with higher sales even if it's lower margins.
Fantasy update might be active MFT and maybe a replaceable battery. Even less likely but maybe a form factor change which includes XLR inputs.
No truth to that rumor about the Cinema Cameras being discontinued.
As for why we lowered the price. We figured out ways to build them for less. Over the year we came up with ways to build them better and when got those ways perfected, we did the price cut.
Not that I would be concerned if it would discontinued, because it outputs great filmic images in great quality, and its irrespective of the fact that its discontinued or not. I only care about the product support, updates etc..
