Hyperdeck Studio freezes

After about 4.5 min of recording, the time code counter stops and all buttons become unresponsive. The rotating light around the SSD continues to spin as though it were still recording, but when I check the drive it has only recorded the 4.5 min. After this happens it must be power cycled and it comes back as normal. When I put my SSD in the drive it checks it as fine. This happens every time.

Here is my set up:

Input: HDSDI 720p with embedded audio
Hyperdeck studio with the latest firmware
4x 240GB Kingston SSD NOW V+ 200 (on the approved list for uncompressed, happens with all 4 of them.)

recording in Pro Res gets ~4 1/2 min
recording in uncompressed gets ~45sec

Is anyone else having similar issues or have any ideas on whats wrong?

The very same for me..

i tried with others SSD too (OCZ vertex and agility , Kingston Hyper X) with the same problem.

Today i tried with exFAT. Same results.

I think that this unity is defective.

BM support determined that mine was, and I got an RMA for it. Just shipped it off.

I realize this is a very old thread, but I am having this same exact issue with the most recent firmware, on THREE different devices all using new Samsung EVO 860 SSD's in May of 2019. The bug is back baby, whatever it is. Ideas anyone?

Could it be the EVO drives?

I bought two of these and after formatting in my HyperDeck Studio 2, they lost their partitioning information and weren't mountable on a PC and invisible to the HyperDeck and BMCC.
