Using DeckLink Micro Recorder with an ARM computer

PostThu Apr 25, 2024 4:34 am

At our company we're developing a commercial product that needs to take SDI video input from cinema cameras and relay the video frames over ethernet after some post processing (all of this will done within the ARM computer).

Unfortunately, I've seen quite a few posts pointing out poor operation of DeckLink Micro SDI when used with RP5 or Jetson Nano. For example this post - forum (dot) blackmagicdesign (dot) com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=111526.

However, that, and the other posts talk about DeckLink Micro SDI which interfaces over M.2 PCI Express Gen 3, whereas our interest is in DeckLink Micro Recorder which interfaces over mPCIe Gen 1.

I wanted to see if anyone has had a solid success with DecLink Micro Recorder with an ARM based SBC (which has Gen 2 PCIe), so that we can move forward with this integration with confidence.

The ARM computer we'll be using does include mPCIe Gen 2 slot, please see GateWorks GW7100.

Your help is very appreciated!
