DeckLink IP

I have a quick question regarding the new IP cards like DeckLink IP/SDI HD.
I want to send signal from one PC to the other one, both having DeckLink IP/SDI HD cards and connected via ethernet cable with no switch/router between them.

Will that work? Do I need specific desktop video configuration? I use static IP config, but can't make it work.
Does the ethernet cable need to be crossed, or regular one will work too?
Do I need to implement anything specific in DeckLink SDK or the code that works with regular SDI cards will work here too, with properly configured Desktop Video IP addresses?

Hi Tomas, use 10-bit video. Decklink IP Flow only works in 10-bit.
Also the IP connection wil be:
Decklink board 1 out 1 <---> Decklink Board 2 in 1
Decklink board 1 out 2 <---> Decklink Board 2 in 2

That was the only issue I had with the configuration of two Decklink IP boards directly.

Do you use regular ethernet cable?
Also, are you using DHCP or static IP configuration? I am using 10bit signal, but on the receiving end I have no signal still...

If you are connecting the two cards directly with an Ethernet cable, you must use a fixed IP because there is no one to provide DHCP.

Have you tried the SDK Sample apps? try with SignalGenerator.exe and CapturePreview.

Yes, I made it work finally - had to restart the machine after changing the settings, but works as expected now. For testing I used DaVinci Resolve on one system and Media Express on the other one.

Decklink IP Flow only works in 10-bit?

I've also encountered issues with 8-bit and 10-bit IP flows recently. According to the DeckLink API 14.4 documentation (verified via the DeviceList demo), the Ethernet Output should support both 8-bit and 10-bit formats.
