Video Assist auto record signal type

PostFri Jan 28, 2022 3:46 pm

does anyone have information on the "record trigger" command or "timecode trigger" command
which auto starts recording on the Video Assist when a compatible cameras record button gets pressed?

I am getting a high speed camera (Chronos 2.1) which records to a ram/buffer and I want to record each replay on the Video Assist 12g (via the camera HDMI out)

with this setup I would have proxies of all previous clips that I can replay to clients and agency (the chronos only stores 1x 11s, once I save the clip to SSD or SD card the clip is no longer available for replay)

To make this process as easy as possible I would like to send the expected timecode or camera trigger signal "on replay" not "on record" as it would not make much sense to record a 1000fps shot at 50 or 60fps.

The Chronos firmware is open source, so if I know what type of signal is needed I might find somebody who can add the function

Would it not be easier to use the LANC input of the Video Assist for this?
