Linux Kernels 6.0+ & BMD Desktop Video

PostWed Feb 08, 2023 1:26 am

Anybody had any luck getting BMD Desktop Video to work with newer Linux Kernels? (Even in a hacky way)

I saw another forum post with a user getting it to work 6.1 but I haven't had much success, maybe I'm not using the make command correctly... Any tips or ideas? Will newer version of BMD Desktop Video support newer kernels in the future? We have some compatibility issues with other peripherals (Video Cards) that are forcing us to newer kernels.

Hello,

See https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=173218#p915556 and the conversation to learn how to use patches.

Hope this will help.

Cordially,

So I tried the patches, but was having issues with it compiling, is there special flags or parameters that need to be passed to the compiler? What about compiler version? Any help appreciated.
