VITC on black burst

Some sync/signal generators (like https://www.tek.com/datasheet/spg8000a- ... -datasheet) can provide VITC in Black Burst output signal.

So question is: any decklink board are capable to get that timecode signal from black burst that sent to reference input bnc?

Hi Max,

No, timecode capture from the reference input is not supported on DeckLink cards.

@Cameron
So I am assuming based on [2.4.13] there isn't a way to provide a external reference clock to the capture card.
"All sources providing the signal to the capture devices must have their clocks synchronized. This can be achieved by providing the sources with a common reference input."
Is that assumption correct? I'm looking for the best way to try and synchronize with other system data.

In 2.5.4.17 IDeckLinkInput::GetHardwareReferenceClock it says
The GetHardwareReferenceClock method returns a clock that is locked to the system clock
which I assume that is what is used with the IDeckLinkVideoInputFrame::GetHardwareReferenceTimestamp as well. Can you expound more on how it is locked to the system clock? Clock resolution? Precision? Accuracy? My capture card is on a Windows machine.

I know I can count on the relative time between timestamps of frames. I'm trying to figure out the best way to synchronize with other system data and not sure the best way to timestamp since they are on a different clock.

I am not able to capture timecode during Capture video from SDK using Capture binary.

Capturing with the following configuration:
Ubuntu 18.04 system
Decklink Intecity 4K capture card with HDMI input video from Roku device

Output console logs:
Capturing with the following configuration:
- Capture device: Intensity Pro 4K
- Video mode: 1080p59.94
- Pixel format: 8 bit BGRA (4:4:4)
- Audio channels: 2
- Audio sample depth: 16 bit

Stopping Capture

Also in CapturePreview there is no Ancillary data .

Can I get help on this. Please let me know if any more information required from my side.

Looking forward a great response.

Thanks
