Controlling UltraStudio 4K Mini with a script

We are using a Blackmagic UltraStudio 4K Mini in our lab for stimuli playback and we would like to automate the measurement procedure by controlling it with a script (Python or Matlab preferably). It would be a short list of commands like play, stop and jump to.
What would be the best or the easiest way to do that?
Are there some examples of similar scripts that we could use as a start point?
