We maintain a derivative spin of Centos 8-Stream and the latest stable Blackmagic drivers (12.3a10) are not fully functional when installed as part of the OS. However reinstalling the drivers post-os install fixes the issue. This is likely an issue with the install order of the other packages during OS install. For now, I'd like to work around the problem by repairing the install at first boot with a script or something, but I can't figure out what is wrong. I would appreciate any help or just being pointed in the right direction. I am able to reproduce the issues on two different systems, one with a Quad HDMI and the other with a Quad 2 (I don't think the specific hardware is a factor). Below is system information on the system with the Quad HDMI.
The graphical program BlackmagicDesktopVideoSetup shows "No Desktop Video Device Detected".
The MediaExpress program is not able to access any card (Device Menu -> No Device is Connected).
However, other aspects of drivers appear to function normally:
The rpms themselves seem to be installed successfully/cleanly (no output from rpm -V desktopvideo desktopvideo-gui mediaexpress).
There are a couple warnings in the make.log of the dkms modules, but those appears after a successful reinstall, so probably not relevant.
