bmdFrameHasNoInputSource when connecting computer over HDMI

PostFri Jul 29, 2022 3:34 am

Hello there,

Having some trouble trying to getting VideoInput from another Computer connected via HDMI in with the DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G. The other Computer (Windows) detects the BM card as a display but IDeckLinkVideoInputFrame always has bmdFrameHasNoInputSource set on the receiving device (Linux) and I don't ever see VideoInputFormatChanged getting called. I've tried the bundled CapturePreview app and that also prints out "No valid input signal" with and without Auto Format Detection turned on. I'm wondering if I need to do some configuration on the sender side to make the HDMI signal valid?

Cheers in advanced,
Aidan

Hi Aidan,

Check that the detected display mode and colorspace matches the display mode and colorspace used in your call to IDeckLinkInput::EnableVideoInput. You can check by running SDK sample DeviceStatus, alongside an active capture from your application.
