Ubuntu 20.04 and Desktop Video 12.4

PostTue Aug 09, 2022 8:58 am

Hello,
i installed Desktop Video 12.4 on two different ubuntu 20.04 computer, both with Thunderbolt 3.
I can see the device
Code: Select all
tbtadm devices
0-1     Blackmagic Design       Ultrastudio HD Mini     authorized      in ACL

I can see the drivers loaded
Code: Select all
blackmagic            630784  0
blackmagic_io        2056192  0

but in Desktop Video Setup there are no devices detected.
Ps. DesktopVideoHelper is running in background

Any hint?
Thanks for your help

I've had issues with Intel NUC Thunderbolt and BMD. Turn off all the Virtualization stuff in the BIOS.

Just wanted to provide references to more people with similar issues. Turning off virtualization indeed fixed the driver issue. It only applies to systems where thunderbolt devices have already been detected in the system.
