Synchronizing Streams

PostWed Jan 28, 2015 12:46 pm

Hi, I am working on a stereo capture application where each eye of the stereo stream is in a separate SDI input source so synchronization is difficult.

Does the SDK support any method of synchronizing two independent streams?

Note: I have a Decklink Quad card.

HI Max -
There is specific 3D Stereoscopic support in our SDK supporting Current Decklink 4K Extreme and it also supported now previous generation Decklink 3D+. It is not supported via SDK for multi channel boards like Decklink DUO and Quad.

From age 26 of SDK Manual for introduction of said function.
"3D (dual-stream) capture and playback is supported by certain DeckLink devices such as the DeckLink 4K Extreme. The 3D functionality is only available over HDMI or SDI, where Channel
A and Channel B represent the left and right eyes."

The extreme cards has two SDI connectors that are input A and Input B and two output which are output A and output B. It is not a multi channel card so recommend if possible to use Extreme 4K card for your application development.
