Decklink Duo Software Switcher

PostWed Feb 04, 2015 3:44 pm

Hello,
we are considering to buy a Decklink Duo card but before I'd like to ask you one thing.
Our setup will consist of an i7 custom PC with 2 Camera connected to the Decklink Duo. We'd like to stream just one source at a time over the web and we'd like to switch from one source to another remotely via software.
Would it be possible to develop such a software with the Decklink SDK so that we can remotely send messages to our software so that it switches between sources?
Thanks.

The Decklink DUO is two devices on a Pcie x4 card. Input 1 could capture video on device 1 and input 2 could be capturing a different source on device 2.

A developer could write an application to switch between the two different inputs. The SDK does have calls to determine if the SDI input has a valid signal on the connection. The desktop video SDK can be used for uncompressed capture and playback on the DUO.

To stream to the web using the captured video from a Decklink you would need streaming software solution . The streaming part of the Desktop video SDK refers to special functions of the H264 Pro Recorder.
