issues with Input to Output

we have build a playout piece of software and use the DirectX way of programming in Delphi to control the Blackmagic card be noticed that when we move from Input to input the same input is just used twice that there is a jump in the video and in the audio.
after a few repeats the jump in the video seems to dissapear but the audio jump / glitch stays present.
any clues on what this might be ?
