Blackmagic Design today announced the anime series “Aoi Hane Mistuketa (Finding a Blue Feather),” produced by anime production company Noovo Inc., was posted using DaVinci Resolve Studio. The series, which was also granted a MegaGrant by Epic Games, used DaVinci Resolve Studio for editing and used the Fusion page to create background images in conjunction with Epic’s Unreal Engine.

Produced with the latest technology, the series consists of six five minute episodes and is available on various Japanese streaming services and globally on sites such as YouTube. It was created digitally throughout the production process, while keeping the same water color painting look of the original book the series was based on.

“We already had a project to produce a picture book. Having IP of the book meant that we could be more aggressive if we made it into animation, so I had already planned to make an anime version. I wanted to try something new, which was to bring the picture book look using the latest technology,” said Hideo Uda, a CEO of the anime production company Noovo, who is also the writer of the book and the executive producer of the anime series.
