Hi,
We received our Full Davinci Resolve Linux with Control Surface last week.
We installed the system with the bundled v9.1.1 CD and dongle (on CentOS 5.4). I have few questions,
1) We want to have the system with internal drive/raid (due few specific reasons), Unfortunately supermicro does not have any fast connection like USB3 or Firewire and we will be having footage in multiple Terabytes USB3/Firewire from the clients. i am wondering in any case how would anyone transfer the lot of footage to raid storage system internal/external from USB2, Any advice or best practices?
2) Have gone through the forum and found that the v10 will be on CentOS 6.2, So do we get the new Installation CD for upgrade to new OS and resolve or will we have any download link?
3) We are working on a project DCP Theater release which needs to be color corrected in YXZ color space so there would be no surprises, Unfortunately we did not find that Mac or OSX support working in XYZ color space so need to work on linux where as we would like to grade on Mac or Window, Please correct me if i am wrong.
4) On linux system when we connect the USB drive which is having R3d files on it, there are few shots which davinci able to import from approximate 50 shots, where as on mac and windows we are able to import all the shots smoothly.
5) The external drives also shows the "Lock" on files which we need to unlock by changing the owner from the root superuser, is there any option that we can connect and use the usb drives without any permission alteration from root? like in Mac or OSX, like plug and use, that simple
