URSA Mini Pro 12Ks Capture Chile’s New Hit Telenovela

PostMon Aug 05, 2024 1:51 pm

Blackmagic Design today announced that Chile based production company Mazal Producciones captured Mega’s new telenovela “Al Sur del Corazón” with six Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K and two Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 digital film cameras. With more than 150 episodes, the telenovela required the extensive number of cameras, all shooting in Blackmagic RAW, to capture the dazzling lands of Puerto Octay, Chile.

Broadcast on Chilean television station Mega and its streaming platform MegaGo, “Al Sur del Corazón” tells the story of a family of four women known as “Las Bravas” who work the lands of Puerto Octay in the south of Chile. The four women, a grandmother, daughter and two granddaughters, have promised themselves that no man will ever dominate their lands, and they work a job that has traditionally been done by men. Empowered with their promise, the women navigate their lives and face what is said to be a curse in their town that no woman will ever be happy with a man. Since its premiere in April, “Al Sur del Corazón” has captivated Chilean audiences with its stellar actors, provocative storyline and beautiful scenery.

To capture more than 150 episodes, production company Mazal Producciones (formerly AGTV) turned once again to Blackmagic Design. Arming the crew with six URSA Mini Pro 12Ks, two Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 and six Blackmagic URSA Broadcast cameras, Mazal brought the telenovela to life with a dynamic multicamera production and vibrant visuals as many of the scenes were shot outdoors in the Puerto Octay lands.
