Blackmagic Design announced today that director Takashi Miike's latest film, Blazing Fists, was graded using DaVinci Resolve Studio. The grading work was performed by Tetsuji Yamashita of Imagica Entertainment Media Services, utilizing the DaVinci Resolve Studio and DaVinci Resolve Advanced Panel.
Blazing Fists, executive produced by Mikuru Asakura, is a coming of age story about two boys who meet and become best friends in a juvenile detention center and aim to win a Breaking Down tournament. Breaking Down is an amateur mixed martial arts tournament based on the concept of determining the strongest competitor in one minute. This martial arts event, conceived in 2021 by Asakura, has been gaining fans each year, with related videos exceeding 300 million views
Directed by Takashi Miike, known for his depiction of youth conflicts in works like the Crows Zero series, as well as for his acclaimed film styles, the film stars two newcomers selected from an audition pool of 2,000 participants: Danhi Kinoshita and Kaname Yoshizawa.
