Forensics work with Davinci Resolve?

PostSun Sep 18, 2022 3:58 pm

I'm a journalist in West Virginia (U.S.), looking for video forensics experts to quote in stories about fake news/influence operations/disinformation campaigns ... and so on.

If you have forensics expertise in examining video (using Davinci Resolve, and/or with using CCTV as clips in Davinci, Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro), I'd love to hear from you.

Or if you'd be willing to recommend experts (especially those who analyze CCTV), I'd be grateful.

This kind of software is now highly specialised and most commercial NLEs don't really lend themselves well to such work - detailed reporting and analysis tools are essential for such kind of work to be admissible evidence. Ocean Systems dTective® Forensic Video Analysis Suite, was a set of plugins for Avid Media Composer and then Premiere, but I believe they have gone out of business now.

Amped Five, is now a popular choice in the Forensics field, I believe:

But that is the sum of my knowledge in this area. As a journalist, you'd be better off writing to one or either of those companies, for the information you seek.
