How does the warranty process work?

PostMon Feb 17, 2020 6:02 am

Hi and thank you for having me on this forum.

I just recently bought my new BMPCC 6k. It is performing very well and i don't have any issues with it.
Nevertheless i came into thinkin how the process will be by the time when there IS an issue with the camera.

My question is: Is the warranty process work? Do i need to proof my purchase with the invoice of my (german) online-shop? Or is the age etc. of my camera confirmed by checking the serial number?

I am also asking because i might want to sell the camera in the future and I wonder if the buyer will be able to use the remaining warranty.

Thank you!

Yes you need to proof the purchase. Warranty goes from the date on the invoice.

When there is something wrong you need to contact BMD regional support, They will walk you trough a process to check if the product is really defective.

If so you have to send it in, and a BMD worker will check your product. They then will decide if it get's repaired, replaced, or in some cases is called totalled.

If you were to sell it to someone. They might want to ask for a copy of the original invoice if the device is still within the warranty period.
