Live production: platform recommendations

PostSun Mar 15, 2020 9:23 pm

Hello! I am looking for recommendations for easily movable platforms with enough room for a camera operator and camera on tripod.

Is weight an issue? Modularity? We usually rent or get venues to supply but I looked at buying in the past and these scored highly:

Not sure thstnis going to be stable enough. You can build a platform the height you need with 2x4 lumber for legs and frame and 3/4 inch plywood (or two thinner sheets screwed and glued to a 1x2 frame work to get a torsion box) for the top. Bolt together on location to set up. Works well very stable if legs are “Z” braced. You can also use stage “Apple Boxes” to hold the platform up, but this requires a level or flat surface to start with.
