Serious lack of BMPCC's

PostMon Sep 09, 2013 5:22 pm

As above... 7-8 weeks after shipping was supposed to start and still hardly any cams out there.. People ordering on day 1 and still nothing..

Any reason for the small amount shipped??.. Any updates you can supply about supply and demand?.. When can we expect shipments in large quantities?

Good question. I assume production was halted by the orbs and each camera recalibrated and that is taking the time. Hopefully there should be lots very soon. Be nice to be updated on this.

I cancelled my order, literally about 2 hours before the fix was posted in the Blooming Sensor thread. I was 5th in the queue, and had the camera for the initial pricing which was when the Aussie dollar was a little stronger. If I wanted to put my deposit down again I would be 17th in the queue and would have to pay about $200.00 more. Doh!

But I still think it was the correct course of action. Not entirely sure all the bugs are ironed out of this version 1.0 cam although having downloaded a Pro Res sample clip from Wooden Camera, it's just so nice to grade compare too AVCHD.

I have an order with CVP for 2 units. Their expected delivery date feels like an educated guess since this has changed on a regular basis. I don't think they have any definite information, they seem just as much in the dark as the rest of us.

Just spoken to my dealer in UK (3D Broadcast), they said 10 more cameras had arrived in UK since their last update on 8th/Sep, so if we get 10 cameras per week in U.K, then I think I will get my by the end of October-ish...

CVP are receiving on average 10 units per week. I am currently in position 130 so I should receive the two cameras a fortnight before NAB 2014, just in time for the next camera to be announced...

There are many available in the US. Maybe I should buy them all up and start selling them overseas for a nice markup. lol

Can't you guys just log onto B&H and order one? Or does shipping and import duties cost way too much?

Maybe Blackmagic should fulfil its preorders before supplying cameras for over the counter sales…

Import duty would be the main barrier to importing from US.

Wondering whether the main UK distributor has pissed off Grant Petty and he is getting his revenge.
