Finding a suitable MAM / DAM for postproduction.

PostWed Dec 30, 2020 4:00 pm

Hi there...

...scrolling through the internet, the forums and the searches i was wondering, if you would have any helpful suggestions.
I’m looking for a MAM or DAM that is able to run centralized on a server at our local network. So that can anyone in that network connect to its UI and use it.

Wishlist of features:

• -access via local network (front- end backend)
• -database on local server
• -user/roll and privilege management
• -understands broadcast/professional postproduction formats and codecs
• -understand single image sequences
• -handles also offline and archived files (not direct accessible…videotape, external disks, LTO archives )
• -can create proxy/low quality copies of the original footage, format and codec conversion
• -workflow automation (exporting, uploading, etc.)
• -implementation for at least DaVinci Resolve, Fusion, Adobe CC
• -metadata editing, burn-in

We’re not a big company. So spending thousands of bucks a month for licensing one of the big guns is no option. At the same time solutions like KYNO are a little to limited since we have to deal with offline or archived footage across different technologies.
So long story short, are there any ideas out there?

Best wishes to you and a happy new year!

Andreas
