Zeiss Contax 300mm F4 Tripod Mount Removal... Help!

Greetings all,

I have recently added a Zeiss Contax 300mm f4 lens to my shooting kit. I have been cinema-modding all of my lenses and I have run into a problem getting my focus gears onto this lens due to the location of the tripod mount.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any success temporarily removing this tripod mount and if so how they proceeded?

If anyone ever has any interest I have successfully completed my cinema-modification of this 300mm f4 Zeiss lens including the addition of focus gears with the removal and reattachment of the tripod mount.
