This morning, the umbrella organisation for Europe's performing rights societies - The European Authors' Societies - published a report on the effect of Covid-19 on cultural industries, and what's needed for a recovery. It says that aviation is the only sector of the economy that has been hit worse by Covid-19.
The full report, which has an executive summary, is at the following link. Discussion about the impact of Covid-19 starts on page 28. Filmmaking comes under "Audio Visual". Except for video games, which are seeing growth, Audio Visual sector turnover has dropped by 22% (€26 billion), and there is a 10% to 30% increase in production costs.
