Covid-19 & Rebuilding Cultural Industries

PostTue Jan 26, 2021 2:39 pm

This morning, the umbrella organisation for Europe's performing rights societies - The European Authors' Societies - published a report on the effect of Covid-19 on cultural industries, and what's needed for a recovery. It says that aviation is the only sector of the economy that has been hit worse by Covid-19.

The full report, which has an executive summary, is at the following link. Discussion about the impact of Covid-19 starts on page 28. Filmmaking comes under "Audio Visual". Except for video games, which are seeing growth, Audio Visual sector turnover has dropped by 22% (€26 billion), and there is a 10% to 30% increase in production costs.

I found that if you played Oxygene in the background it made the talk more dramatic.

Thanks, that 2007 was nice. As a tinnitus sufferer, that new one was a no go for me. I did slow it down to .25 which helped with it's beatastic orientation but the sound is too high end....
