I imagine you've tried this already, but be sure to clean the contacts on the camera and on the lens you're using. Sometimes that fixes any issues with push-button iris or focus control.

If all else fails you can use manual lenses. My original BMPCC's iris and focus buttons didn't work from day 1; I had purchased mine new. Back then you could still send them back to BMD for repair and they replaced some parts (the repair ticket said they replaced the sensor but that seems farfetched to me). My Micro Cinema Camera doesn't work reliably with focus-by-wire lenses (they instantly go out of focus when I press the Record button). I ended up switching to all-manual lenses and never looked back.
