Hi there.
Just wanted to ask something about Thunderbolt 4 and 3 compability. As far as I know TB3 devices can work on TB4 motherboards but for some reason I'm encountering a problem with my G-raid drives on a windows 10 platform.
I recently bought a Asus Rog Maximus Hero VIII Z590 motherboard which has 2 TB4 connectors. When I try to connect my G-Speed shuttle drive which uses TB3 the drive doesnt work. I tried some other Lacie raid units on the same motherboard but no luck . Sometimes the drives do work and I did play with some BIOS features to see if it would work but 9 out or 10 the drives dont start on windows. I've sent the motherboard back for repairs incase the TB4 ports were faulty but no errors were found. So if I rule out hardware errors the only thing I can think of is , if there's a compability issue between TB4 and TB3 protocols.(Btw these drives work perfectly on mac systems and I tried them as exfat,in windows device manager I can't even see them recognized by the OS)
If anyone could help I would be happy.
Have a nice day.
