which camera is best?

PostSun Dec 26, 2021 10:49 am

Hi guys, I am looking for a new camera for filming.

Maybe you can help, here is photo of my current gear: https://uniqueseo.pl/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/20211226_114310-scaled.jpg

nikon d3300, lenses, rode mics... and it is great for manual focus

unfortunately for AF this is totally crap, not working at all

my goal is to create more dynamic videos from my day etc. sth like casey neistat
so right now I have to record from my phone, new samsung note.

but phone is just a phone.

So you know whatmy goal is, I am an amateur and my budget is similar to sony zv-1 price, right now I am thinking about this but maybe you can suggest me sth better?

That budget won’t get you a better camera and I suggest you used what you’ve got and learn more how to make better videos with it - composition, lighting, movements, etc. if you can save up a little over a couple of thousand dollars (US), maybe sell your current camera kit and add to your budget, then a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K with a good zoom lens like this Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8, a few batteries, Media, and ND-IR filters will get you started.

Lens: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ ... al_ed.html

Grip + Batteries: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ ... magic.html and 3 of these batteries https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ ... ttery.html

ND+IR variable filter (just one of many options out there): https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ ... r_kit.html

SD Card: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ ... s=pi&pim=Y
You should be able to record 4KUHD with BRAW 8:1 or 5:1 @ 24fps with this card.

Don’t forget to get a good and sturdy tripod as well. Those sticks are important! From here, you can grow your camera as you get better.
