Prores encoding on Windows, alternative to Resolve?

PostFri Jun 03, 2022 7:55 pm

There are now some NLE's that offer Prores encoding on Windows. Media Composer, Premiere Pro are officially licensed by Apple.

Magix Vegas 19 also does this, however it's not licensed officially from Apple. So in their case it's some kind of reverse engineering etc. This might matter to some people.

I wish Resolve can do this on Windows.

Scratch can do it. It's up to Apple who gets to be licensed, and I don't think BMD is on the list.

Mistika and Mistika Workflows do it also. All Foundry comp products (Nuke, NukeX, Nuke Studio) too, for last 10 years or so, although it makes any sense only if you do comp or vfx editorial.
