Moving Forum to Stackexchange or similar?

PostThu Dec 01, 2022 1:24 pm

While browsing the forum and questions, I'd love to upvote and bookmark good questions and answers like in Stackexchange sites. Is it feasible to move this forum to stackexchange?

Thanks

There is a Video StackExchange site here that does get a few DaVinci questions and answers.

I'd strongly advocate AGAINST moving it to stackexchange.

The forum needs to be accessible to as many users of DVR as possible, not just the more technically inclined.
StackExchange can seem daunting for some, but also due to the nature of the site (coding component) that would mean the forum would likely be BLOCKED for many users with workplace firewalls (including government etc). Not ideal if you are using DVR for an actual work project LOL

I see no compelling need to change.

If I ask basic questions - in the immortal words of Sissy Spacek, “I may be ignorant but I ain’t stupid!

Steinbergs Dorico (music notation) forum is really nice to use, easy to bookmark threads etc. It's an update over the original one. I do find this Blackmagic forum a bit feature lacking in comparison.

BMPCC 4K
Panasonic GH4
Macbook Pro
Windows workstation
Plus all the usual studio kit and caboodle :-)

+1. No need to change. This is good enough.
