HDR400 True Black vs HDR Peak 1000

PostWed Feb 15, 2023 4:19 pm

Hi there,
I'm new to this forum...

Next question, what is preferable?
HDR400 True Black OR HDR Peak 1000

I have two monitors to choose from, one is the ASUS ProArt OLED PA32DC (HDR400 True Black),
the other is the ASUS ProArt PA32UCX-PK (IPS) with DisplayHDR 1000

Which of the two would you prefer, I'm not so sure!
What is important...

It depends what you’re working on. If you’re doing SDR, I would go with the PA32DC. Although the PA32UCX-PK has a peak brightness of 1200, you’re probably getting around 800 nits which is still highly suitable for HDR work. Rec2020 is only 89% but I wouldn’t be too concern. If I were to choose between the 2, I would go with the PA32DC. My preference however, at this price range, is to go with a BenQ or and Eizo.
