Hello Blackmagic Design community!
Forgive my (almost) blatant copying of the post at WSL...
About a generation ago I had quite a collection of audio gear and spent lots of all-nighters experimenting with sounds and making tracks. I actually got really close to a record contract with a techno label, but decided instead to move to Canada (Montreal, in 2001) to work on an animated feature.
Just a couple of weeks ago I found several backups of music that I thought I'd lost over the years, with tracks on them I barely remembered making!
And then I thought - huh, I created a forum that now has thousands of users. What if a lot of them would play and maybe share my music, I'd actually have an audience for this...
So I found a publisher, uploaded what I had found, made some new artwork and...
CLICK HERE for my artist page on Landr with links to Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and more!
Frankly, I know absolutely nothing about publishing music through streaming platforms and how much revenue it generates. I'm literally making this up as I go along. So far I've been spending, rather than making, money on it. I won't know for another 2-3 months (according to my publisher) what the answer to that may be.
However, it's a lot of fun to do and seeing my work appear on Spotify made me giddy with excitement. I'm also going to dust off some of my old gear (I still use an Amiga alongside my synths!) and start creating some more!
I'm happy to share more stories about my music and what I learn along the way, and be completely open about that here.
I'm also happy to answer any questions you may have - especially people who maybe want to do the same at some point.
Maybe, for those of you who are into it, expand the forum to include audio at some point...
And for those that are able willing to support the forum through Patreon, here is the link:

Give it a listen, and if you like what you hear share it as much as you can and add it to playlists - it is immensely appreciated!
Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
Pieter
