bm bi directional 3G image squashed

I now have 4 of these BM bidirectional 3G units. I use them HDMI from laptop to an SDI teleprompter monitor.
When the image pops up it is squashed. Laptop display is 1920 x 1080.

Thoughts on why ?

I am thinking this has got to be a processing issue. Tho my monitors are SDI they may not 'see' 3G unless the signal goes thru a switching system because it works at events where my signal is passed thru such systems.
In any case that's what I think it is and I was refunded for these units (tho allowed to keep them!)
and I ordered 2 no 3G units...
