Support for "Add image to post"

PostSat Mar 08, 2025 5:10 pm

Since this forum is alreday using phpBB, why not support a feature called "Add image to post"?

This will make it extreamly fast and easy for users to attach images or screenshots to posts.

Here is what I mean from PostImage:
https://postimages.org/plugins

The images are hosted in PostImage for free, so no extra storage is requird from BMD.

Here it shows how to install the feature on the forum:

You can add images using attachments. Here are 6 easy steps. You can right click on them and open full screen in a new tab. There are two limitations, maximum file size of 1MB and only 3 images per post.

Thanks Charles for your feedback.

I am aware that you can directly add images to posts, but its limitations (2MB and 3 per posts) are the problem as in many cases, the file size of a single screenshot, especialy on hi-res high DPI monitors can reach 4MB. And in some situations it can even be more than 16MB. Also the limit of 3 images per post is sometimes not practicle.

That is why I sugessted enabling "Add image to post" in the forum for 4 main reasons:
1- Image size upto 32MB
2- No expiration date.
3- Super easy to implement by just installing this plugin: https://postimages.org/phpbb
4- Images are hosted outside the forum so its free for BMD.

Basiclly we will get much better experince without costing BMD any money.
