Playback 50fps footage please on a Media Player?

I have some Panasonic vLog footage shot at 50fps.

Normally I watch/preview my footage with VLC so that I can decide what to keep and what goes in the bin.

Any suggestions on what I can use to watch my 50fps H.265 footage on please?

The problem is that my VLC will not play 50fps stuff. I'm sure it used to but not any more and I don't know why or what I can use to preview my 50fps footage.
When I use VLC, I get a black screen that flickers and freezes. I have to go into Task Manager to shut down VLC.

I can watch my footage in Davinci Resolve, no problem but I'd like to preview what I have and then add a description to the File Title to help with editing.

VLC happily plays 50fps h265 on my Win 10 system. You need to have a look at your settings.

That’s my problem. I don’t know what settings to look for.

What codec did you use on the camera to record the footage?

It's possibly taxing the computer and GPU. VLC is struggling to play 50fps Pro Res 422HQ on my computer. As h265 is more demanding on the CPU that could be the problem. Hopefully others will chime in.

I had a bit more of a think about this. If I play the footage with 5KPlayer or something similar then I get choppy playback.
And if I try 4K 422 LongGOP then I get choppy playback.
However if I drop the codec to 4K 420 and LongGOP then VLC plays back the footage perfectly fine.
My Graphic Card is an RTX 3090. Could this be the stumbling block?

My options are to buy a more upto date Graphic Card like a RTX 4090 or RTX 5090 or to go Mac and buy a Mac Studio for the same price as a Graphic Card.

Thanks for your help solving this little conundrum.

Just had a thought, when I play the footage in Davinci Resolve, I can play back effortlessly and scrub through the footage effortlessly. SO the problem can't be the Codec or Graphic Card because Resolve plays the footage flawlessly.

This surely means its a software problem and not a hardware problem?

As an experiment, I uninstalled VLC and reinstalled it at 64bit.
And it worked flawlessly straight away.

Very bizarre but happy days.
