Is DaVinci Resolve (basic version) free for commercial use?

PostThu Jun 09, 2022 6:35 pm

Good evening everyone,

I have a question about the terms of use of the basic version of the software "DaVinci Resolve" (Not "Studio").

Is the software allowed for commercial use?
Or can this edition only be used privately?

Thanks a lot!

With kind regards

Bastian

Contact your local BMD office who will direct you to the local authorized reseller in your country.

The Studio is priced reasonably when you compare it with everything else that competes with it and the license is perpetual, not that ridiculous subscription model. I’m not sure why you still want it discounted if you are making a business using it. BMD is nice to even let the free version be used in a business setting but I strongly recommend to purchase the studio version.

If you like free, you can buy the speed editor hardware which comes with the DaVinci Resolve Studio, pretty much free and you’ll have a speed editor panel for cutting.
