Video Transparency

PostThu Oct 31, 2024 4:22 pm

As you may guess, I am very much a beginner here and I am using DaVinci resolve V19, mainly to assemble and edit stop frame animation sequences.
Still not managed to get MagicMask to work in V19 ( using OSX sonoma), so reverted to V18 on an earlier macchine running OSX Mavericks.
That produced the mask and transparency asked for but, when outputting it to use on the V19 assembly edit option, the only way seemed to be to use the Tiff format. 7seconds worth of frames came in a 5.6Gb, and didn't get the results expected.

Is there a way to output a video with a transparent background,
or a frame sequence, retaining the alpha channel?

regards
Simon
