Cintel 1 16mm Neg Film Selection Won’t Allow Sound Capture

PostTue May 20, 2025 3:38 pm

We are attempting to scan archival 16mm negative film (b&w w/ variable density soundtrack). However, when “Negative” is selected as the film type, the Capture Info option for “Image and Sound” is grayed out, and the only option available is “Image only”. Do we need to change something in project settings/

Hi, Should not be a problem if you are using the Cintel AKR, if 16mm B/W Negative film type.
In Audio & Sync section, Use Film select Optical audio. and capture.
You may want to select 'Flip Image' for Neg... See the manual page 53.

If using Resolve Audio extract, you would need to override and reposition the Audio extract sample window accordingly if you flip image for capture etc.,
