Media Offline for any video from my s24 Ultra

PostSat Apr 19, 2025 2:12 pm

I use my Galaxy S24 Ultra to shoot video for my YouTube channel. I shoot in 4k60 or 4k120, depending on the camera app. I have used the Samsung Camera App on Pro-video mode 4k120 and the Blackmagic Camera App 4k60 both using the h.265 codec.

I move the files over to my computer, then into DaVinci Resolve (free) on the media tab. It will play the audio, but shows Media Offline.

I have moved from 19 to 20 Beta to see if the new version would help with this issue.

Windows system Specs.
Windows 11
AMD 7700X
Nvida 3080ti
2tb Samsung 980 Pro NVME (Video files on here)
4tb Samsung 870 EVO SSD (DaVinci installed here)

The videos will play in VLC and Windows Media Player, so the video files are good. I have tried to relink them in Resolve with no help. Somewhere on the forum it says the media offline could be due to it not rendering the file.

I have figured it out. I needed to grab the right codec for the h.265 from the Microsoft Store.

I have been using the Free Version 18 on my Macintosh with no issues. Recently I purchased a new HP PC running Windows 11. I can successfully install and create projects, but when viewing media I get the error "Media Offline". My video files are from my iPhone8 in HEVC format. Do I need the same codec file installed as gavenmclrn mentioned? What is the correct codec for h.265 format ? specifics please.
