Two Studios setup. Big computer died. Remove one License?

PostFri Jun 27, 2025 7:24 pm

So I had two computers setup with Resolve Studio 20. One of them died yesterday. My trusty but aging HPZ840. How do I deactivate that license so I can install Studio on the next machine I'll be getting for it?

I can't access anything from the Z840 just yet.

Now that you don't have access to manually deactivate that machine, as it's dead you will need to just install and activate Resolve on your new computer. The Resolve license allows you to install on two computers and when you install on the third the originals activations are cleared so you again have two activations available, the new one you just made that triggered the clean, and a second for you to activate.

Note; we recommend manually deactivating and not force deactivating when moving the license between machines as overuse of the force will trigger the anti piracy measures.
